2/12/2008 - It is a thrill working for Pleasant Company! It seems I have a particular affinity for the 'tween market. I have the pleasure of drawing the "how-to" craft column in "American Girl" magazine (which gives my 11 year old daughter some serious bragging rights at her middle school!) and I have enjoyed working on a series of books covering all sorts of topics of interest, from interior design to making your own home movies. I scope 'em out at my local Borders, but you can also find them at the Pleasant Company website. Check it out and let me know what you think! www.americangirl.com
I'm especially proud of my work on "All Made Up, a girl's guide to seeing through celebrity hype and celebrating real beauty", by Audrey D. Brashich, and published by Walker & Company. In these times that test a teenager's soul, this book really matters, reminding kids that there are better choices and models than the ones they encounter in the media every day!
